China Silk Corporation is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Poly Group, one of the world's top 500 enterprises. The establishment of China Silk Corporation dates back to 1946, and it is one of the enterprises with the longest history and the largest scale engaged in silk business in China. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949, the company moved to Beijing and changed its name to China Silk Corporation. In 1961, based on the Silk Company, it was expanded to become the China National Textile Import and Export Corporation. In 1982, the State Council decided to set up a separate China Silk Corporation. In 1986, the China National Silk Corporation was abolished and the China National Silk Import and Export Corporation was established, which was entrusted by the State to supervise the purchase, sale and import and export of cocoon and silk. Since 1999, the corporation was directly led by the CPC Central Committee Enterprise Working Committee. Since 2003, it has received supervision and management from SASAC of the State Council. In February 2012, it was renamed China Silk Group Corporation. In December 2017, the company was restructured and renamed as China Silk Group Co., LTD. In July 2019, approved by the State Council, it became a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Poly Group. At present, China Silk Group is actively creating high-tech, biomedical, fashion and cultural brands based on the sericulture base and finished silk business. It also strives to build a farming culture, silk town, and pastoral complex, and continuously promotes the integration of online and offline businesses by setting up silk industry research centers, trading centers, industrial centers and silk industry funds.
