On October 23, Poly Health Industry Investment (Poly Health), a subsidiary of Poly Developments & Holdings, held the sixth “Jiujiu Xihe – Joy for Young and Old” event in celebration of the Double Ninth Festival in its senior care institutions nationwide. This event advocates the Chinese-style elderly care of health, happiness, and culture, offering an example of sound development for China’s elderly sector.
As a central government enterprise, Poly Developments bears in mind its mission to “create a better life for the elderly”. In 2008, Poly Developments first set up a research team on the healthy senior care industry. In 2012, it founded “Beijing Hexihui”, the nation’s first elder care facility. Poly Health promotes quality senior care services with high standards, and has developed industry-recognized leading standards in practice. Poly Health is now the first old-age care company in China to have received the QES three-system accreditation for its senior care services and medical care services. In this August, Beijing Hexihui, a five-star old-age care facility under Poly Health, achieved a new high for its service standard when it passed the final examination of the national old-age care service standardization pilot project with 98 points (out of 100).
Poly has developed a “trinity” system, which relies on “institution for service, community for service context, and home for service terminal”, and the “1+N+N” model featured by “universal old-age care”. At present, Poly Developments has completed its national layout which focuses on Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu and other key cities, with nearly 50 old-age care projects in operation or under way, and taking care of more than 10,000 old people.

Extending the old-age care industry chain
Poly Health continues to extend its industry chain by exploring how to train old-age care givers, make elderly-oriented products, go ageing-friendly, and so on. Poly Health has set up off-campus training bases with vocational colleges, and launched an overseas training program for elderly care givers in cooperation with Sinolight, opening up channels for excellent talents to study abroad, engage in practical training, and get employed back in China. In addition, Poly Health selects internal trainers and holds nursing skill competitions, which helps implement standardized elderly care services.
Poly Health combines “going aging-friendly” and “going intelligent” through its “Poly Hepin” platform. Poly Health has over one hundred product patents, 14 of which were included in the promotion catalogue of old-age products by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), cooperates with over 200 senior care brands, and participates in government-led projects to go aging-friendly in many places nationwide. In addition, Poly Health rolls out the “renovation of old houses” project to meet the diverse needs of the elderly at home. Poly Health independently develops intelligent old-age care cloud platform called “Hexi life”, which connects with local government’s intelligent old-age care platform, thus linking the institutions, communities and homes.
